Great Hauser
He's not only a musician but a great entertainer. He plays with passion and displays the versatility of the cello with ease. With his musical selections he wants to bring young people to enjoy the cello and yet keep his classical followers with him. We should be glad he wants to keep music a part of everyone's life.
Refreshing
Overall great and entertaining …trying to breach the gap between classical music and more popular hits with the cello being the lead of the orchestra! Good humor and fun…a little campy at times but kept us entertained !
Gorgeous, but description needed.
Hauser’s concert opened into a hauntingly gorgeous, romantic classical. Much of the concert, however, hinges on Latino covers. As a Latina, I found it engaging— but something that I would have loved to have disclosed in a thematic description to inform my expectations for the performance. Still! Hauser is one hell of a showman and I appreciated his attentiveness to the other talent surrounding him. It was a thoughtful performance that I would go see again.
Not what I expected!
Purchased the ticket to see Hauser 5 months ago. So was looking forward with great anticipation to an evening of classical music on 6 June at Carnegie Hall. Instead I got an hybrid which consisted mainly of latin pop music. Was disappointed! The few classical pieces Hauser played were hauntingly beautifully as usual. Hope he does a purely classical performance in NYC in the near future. I would definitely be there!
Rebel with a Cello HAUSER
The decimal level was so high that the "danger hearing loss warning" went off several times during the concert on our Smart Watch. I noticed that several people in the audience had their hands over their ears. We did not understand why such beautiful music had to be played so loud to be uncomfortable. We did expect that he would play some of his softer pieces without all those musicians accompanying him. VERY DISAPPOINTED! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!
Agree with the other 2 star reviews
We went to the concert in Salt Lake City expecting exquisite cello music and instead felt blinded and deafened by the incredibly bright lights and screaming music. I had to plug my ears to avoid going deaf. The sharing of several sweaty towels from Hauser and his band with women in the audience only added to the demise of his show. I would love to see him in a classical concert but this was an awful and pricey letdown.
